Projects

I'm  currently involved in three main research projects, that are briefly discussed below:

Studying dark energy

Part of my research focuses on studying dark energy models, such as scalar fields and perfect fluids, instead of assuming that today's expansion of the Universe is due to the cosmological constant. For that, I use a conjunction of theoretical formulations and cosmological observations that allow us to constrain such models' free parameters.

This project has allowed me to join the Aquila Consortium (https://www.aquila-consortium.org/). Using the BORG framework, I'm currently investigating the evolution of the structure in cosmological models with a contribution during the early Universe.

LAE galaxies in the Early Universe

This theoretical work seeks to determine if the observed scenario by Becker et al. (2018) is consistent with the simulated Universe at high redshift. It has been claimed that there is an LAE (Lyman alpha emitter galaxies) deficit around very large neutral regions of the IGM at z ~ 6.

Based on the experience gathered in previous studies with high-resolution numerical runs, we explore the properties of the LAE galaxies, their environments, and the IGM at redshifts when Reionization was occurring and concluding in the Thesan project (https://www.thesan-project.com/).

BAL - QSOs in DESI spectra

The goal of this project is to identify and manage broad absorption lines in simulated spectra of DESI (https://www.desi.lbl.gov/) Y1 quasars to propose a pipeline to treat these features in real spectra.

I also have had the opportunity to perform remote observations with the DESI telescope as Support Observer in 4 opportunities in 2022 - 2023.
